SYNOPSIS

Synopsis:

The story is set between 1972 and 1974 in Chile and it revolves around Tapani Brotherus, a commercial attaché from the Finnish embassy who saved thousands of Chileans persecuted by the military board. After the coup d’etat, Brotherus received strict orders from his government to not take in any refugees. However, following his social calling and with the support from his wife Lyse, and from Ilkka (his second in command), Tapani decides to disobey the instructions from his country’s authorities, protecting his home and helping thousands of fellow citizens to escape from Chile. “Invisible Heroes” is a story of bravery and audacity in difficult times, where the solidarity of a few, saved the life of many.
