My Brother and I

| 2002

SYNOPSIS

On August 13, 1999, the body of 13-year-old Carlos Patricio Fariña Oyarce was discovered on the side of a road under construction. Carlos was arrested in 1973 during the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. On the day his body was found, his brother Ivan promised the press that he would make Carlitos' story known in Chile and the rest of the world. This documentary shows how a man embarks on a quest to repair his own amnesia, reunite his family and denounce a brutal and irrational act such as the murder of a 13-year-old boy. Winner of an Honorable Mention at the 6th International Documentary Festival of Santiago 2002.
